On July 23, Frank Lessiter (Lessiter Media's founder) and Kim Schmidt (executive editor) took interns Betsy Barthelemy, Brennen Wilson, Jeff Wardon, KC Hubbell, Melissa Martincich, and Rebekah Lindner, along with newcomer staff Kristen Kubisiak, Alison Green and Ben Thorpe, on a field trip to Quad Graphics in West Allis. Long-time Quad employees Carrie, Kristen and Greg took them on a tour of the production process, with highlights including a look into the variety of textures ink can produce, observing direct mail processes, watching the binding machine at work, and lesson on Quad's massive mailing/delivery processes, to name a few!
