Crisis happens often; more often than we’d like to admit. Cars can break down, pipes can burst, basements can flood, the economy can tank, and the list goes on. Something a sailor once told me is the phrase “Hold fast." He explained it as such: "Get ready for anything, because you’re in it now and it isn't going to get easy yet.” When a crisis occurs in business, the time to back down and cut costs in advertising certainly isn’t in the midst of it.

Several businesses have started up in the midst of economic crashes and recessions, or existing businesses have gotten to the point they’re at now because they didn’t let up when many others did. Companies like Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Toyota and Amazon are living proof of the light at the end of the tunnel.

Based on a Forbes article, I created an infographic of the statistics and stories of the companies that made it against all odds. When things look grim, hold fast and brace. Good things will come.
