When it comes to using images on social media, marketing survey results show a clear increase in engagement when images are used in posts. Twitter marketing research revealed that on average, retweets are boosted 35% when photos are used, and videos 28%. Digital Marketing expert Jeff Bullas noted that on Facebook, posts with images have a 37% higher level of engagement over text posts. The algorithms used by different social media outlets vary, so strategies that get views, likes and shares on one platform may not work on another.

While there are no exact or simple answers to what images resonate with your audience, there are methods you can use to create relevant, engaging content to get the best results possible. Check out the infographic below to discover six tips for creating images that will increase your social media engagement.
