Ever fall victim to writer’s block? Your answer is likely “yes.” Am I right?
It’s frustrating and stressful when your plate is full and your strapped for time. But there’s an age-old solution that perhaps you’ve overlooked: a swipe file.
A swipe file is a personal collection of creative marketing materials that you’ve received – via print, email, video, etc – that you save or tuck away in a file that you can tap into when you’re in need of creative inspiration.
Swipe files are awesome to have when you’re looking for:
- Layouts
- Designs
- Copy Inspo
- Headlines/Subject lines
- Images & graphics
If you don’t already have a swipe file, here’s a tip: START KEEPING ONE! Save any email promotions, postcards, flyers, etc that catch your eye. If you see a sign or you’re scrolling on social media, take a picture or screen shot it and send it to yourself. You’ll be glad you did when you’re feeling stuck next time.
