If I were to guess, I’d say your email signature might look something like this:
Your Name
Your Job Title
Your Company Name
youremail@company.com | (555) 555-5555
Maybe you have your company name hyperlinked to your website and perhaps you’ve even gone as far as to add social media buttons to your company’s social channels or your LinkedIn page.
What you have here is a pretty basic, standard email signature. And if you’re nodding your head or smiling as you read this, you’re certainly not alone.
The upside here is that there’s a pretty low-risk marketing opportunity knocking at your door.
Email signature marketing is the practice of using your email signature for marketing purposes instead of just as a place to sign your name. It’s a simple way to communicate a special offer, show off a product, or give someone the opportunity to book a meeting or consultation without coming across too salesy in your email message.
Think of your email signature as a business card with superpowers!
Below I’ve detailed 10 different ways to incorporate marketing into your email signature. Many don’t take much effort to include and there’s potential for high-reward.
