Job Overview
This position involves developing, writing and producing print and online content for Lessiter Media’s award-winning business-to-business titles serving the farm equipment dealers and manufacturers.
The Content Editor collaborates with managing editors on short- and long-form feature articles for print, digital, podcasts and video, along with additional special content projects. You’ll dig into the news and trends impacting the equipment business as well as report on best practices that help our subscribers move their agri-businesses forward. You’ll also contribute to on-camera reporting for the award-winning On The Record broadcast. This position includes regular writing assignments, copyediting and proofing of print and online content and occasional travel throughout the U.S. and Canada. Our staff also regularly attends biannual trade shows in Europe as well.
In this 40-person company, you’ll also be exposed to, and asked to contribute toward, the strategies of a successful publishing venture, including marketing, research, audience and sales.

- Possesses a natural appreciation for the importance of agriculture and the key stakeholders in supporting a thriving ag economy.
- Able to tell a story on how things will specifically impact the niche audience we serve, not merely report on news releases.
- Possesses a flexible, adaptable attitude, with the ability to learn, understand and simplify technical, business and specific information for niche audiences.
- Has a “growth mindset” and is eager to help your teammates succeed and vice-versa.

Requirements
- Degree in journalism
- Understands professional B2B publishing business, developed through at least 1-3 years of experience in the industry.
- Understanding of basic principles of business, marketing and operations.
- Agricultural background is a plus, but not required.
- Stellar grammar and spelling skills.
- Strong, “to the point” writer.
- Experienced with digital media and social media.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, both written and oral.
- Fast learner, extremely meticulous, independent and self-directed.
- Detail-oriented and able to multi-task and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Some travel required covering various agricultural shows and industry meetings.
