The Senior Sales Representative has primary responsibility for generating advertising, digital marketing, and sponsorship revenue for assigned Lessiter Media Ag properties and accounts. This role is responsible for building strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering customized marketing solutions that help clients achieve their goals.
Lessiter Media’s agricultural brands are established market leaders and highly trusted voices in the industries they serve. Through respected publications, digital platforms, and industry leading events, the company provides advertisers with credible, high value channels that connect them with engaged decision makers and loyal audiences.
The position requires a highly motivated and experienced sales professional with a proven ability to prospect, grow accounts, close business, and consistently meet revenue targets. The role demands strong marketplace knowledge, disciplined pipeline management, and a consultative sales approach.
This is a performance driven position with an emphasis on revenue generation, account development, customer retention, and new business acquisition.
Revenue Generation & Account Management
- Generate advertising, digital, and sponsorship revenue for assigned accounts.
- Meet monthly, issue, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to maximize long-term revenue.
- Identify and new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and market outreach.
- Develop customized, multi-platform marketing programs aligned with client objectives.
- Sell across Lessiter Media Ag brands, magazines, products, events, print, digital, and sponsorship offerings.
- Protect rate integrity and sell based on value, not unnecessary discounting.
- Create urgency around expiring inventory and available sponsorship opportunities.
Sales Activity & Pipeline Management
- Maintain an active sales pipeline with accurate opportunity stages and close dates.
- Consistently perform outbound prospecting through calls, texts, email, video meetings, and in-person visits.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and proposals.
- Follow up on all proposals in a timely manner.
- Keep CRM, forecasting tools, and internal sales systems updated and accurate.
- Provide regular pipeline updates and revenue forecasts to management.
- Manage sales activity with discipline, urgency, and accountability.
Client Service & Market Development
- Build trusted advisor relationships with clients through strong service and responsiveness.
- Understand customer industries, challenges, and growth opportunities.
- Recommend strategic solutions that deliver measurable marketing value.
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing, events teams to ensure successful execution of client programs.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events when needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of proven success in media sales, B2B sales, advertising sales, or consultative selling.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, closing new business, and growing existing accounts.
- Strong understanding of print advertising, digital media, events, and sponsorship sales.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Self-starter with strong initiative and personal accountability.
- Experience using CRM systems, pipeline tools, and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to travel to client meetings, trade shows, and industry events as needed.
